Trojans bring home the Victory Bell

As a heavy fog rolled into Pasadena on Saturday night, the Victory Bell rolled out of the Rose Bowl Stadium and straight for Trojan territory. In the infamous annual rivalry match, USC claimed a 19-13 victory over the UCLA Bruins. After a first half of back-to-back-to-back field goals, the Bruins sent fear into the souls of Trojan fans with a third-quarter touchdown. The final frame called upon quarterback Jayden Maiava to bring it home; the redshirt sophomore sent the Trojans’ game-winning pass to sophomore wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane.

Suddenly, a sea of “fours” was subtracted by two, and the Rose Bowl swelled with USC’s iconic two finger “V.” With UCLA’s final chance at a drive, the Trojan defense didn’t allow them even one yard, securing the fate of the Victory Bell as the USC Helenes and Trojan Knights escorted it off the field.

Through the thrilling evening, Daily Trojan staff photographer Jake Berg and Photo Editor Henry Kofman were there to capture the cinematic victory for the Trojans.
