LA Nights

Photos by JAKE BERG

With the winter solstice rapidly approaching, the sun seems to set earlier and earlier every day. After the last rays of sunlight disappear behind the horizon, the city takes on an entirely different form. At the beach, the moon reflects off the waves of the Pacific Ocean. Downtown, high-rises glow against the dark night sky. Music and laughter echo through late-night bars and clubs while the rest of the normally bustling city falls silent. After traveling from the shores of Santa Monica to the streets of downtown L.A., staff photographer Jake Berg has curated a collection of photos that capture the elusive beauty of a night in the city. Follow his journey through the city and take in the excitement and mystery of Los Angeles after dark.
