There’s a B1G top ten showdown on deck at Galen Center.

No. 7 USC is hosting No. 8 Ohio State in the first Big Ten matchup between the women’s basketball powerhouses. The Trojans knocked the Buckeyes out of the NCAA Tournament in this same building last season, so USC’s new conference foe will be out for revenge.

We’re reporting live on location. Refresh to see new updates.

    7:37 p.m.

End of three and this is starting to look a lot better for the Trojans. Watkins has made her last two field goal attempts and is finally into double figures. USC is continuing to be very stingy on defense and carries a 59-45 lead into the final period.

    7:30 p.m.

48-39 USC, as we are just 3:25 away from the fourth quarter of a truly strange game between two supposed heavyweights. Watkins is now 0-11, with all five of her points coming from the free two line.

    7:13 p.m.

Iriafen is taking over as the Buckeyes have no answers inside. She has all the Trojan points since halftime and is up to 18 points and 7 rebounds, shooting 6-11 from the field after a rough start to the game. 40-30 Trojans with 7:00 left in the third quarter.

    6:55 p.m.

Halftime at Galen as the Trojans have extended their lead to 34-26. Watkins is struggling mightily — she’s yet to make a field goal on eight attempts. USC has not looked particularly impressive, but the Buckeyes have offered little to nothing on offense. Still, Head Coach Lindsay Gottlieb will hope to inspire her team to find a little bit of offensive rhythm in the final 20 minutes.

    6:49 p.m.

USC is starting to really run the offense through graduate forward Kiki Iriafen amidst Watkins’ struggles, and it is starting to pay dividends against a pretty small Buckeye lineup. Iriafen is up to 12 points and 4 boards with less than a minute to go and is 6-6 from the free throw line.

    6:39 p.m.

Freshman guards Kayleigh Heckel and Kennedy Smith have been nice sparks, but other than that, not a ton of positives from this half. 23-20 with 4:34 left in the second quarter.

    6:32 p.m.

The second quarter is just as ugly, with some careless turnovers on both ends and some more brutal shooting — especially from Watkins. 19-16 USC with 6:31 to go in the half.

    6:24 p.m.

It’s 14-11 Trojans after a pretty ugly first quarter. Both teams are shooting poorly — a combined 9-34. Watkins is now 0-4 and doesn’t look quite in the game, bizarrely just holding onto the ball and declining to shoot as the period came to a close.

    6:17 p.m.

The Trojans have come out of the gates a little frazzled. USC went nearly three minutes without any points, but after two back-to-back threes, the Trojans have their first lead of the night at 10-9. Sophomore guard Juju Watkins is yet to score.

    5:53 p.m.

Less than 10 minutes to tip here at Galen Center. Here is the starting lineup for the No. 7 Trojans:

    G Talia Von Oelhoffen

    G JuJu Watkins

    G Kennedy Smith

    F Kiki Iriafen

    C Rayah Marshall
