The USC Presidential Search Committee will begin surveying students, faculty and staff about their opinions and expectations for the next USC president, a University spokesperson told the Daily Trojan on Tuesday morning. Students, faculty and staff will receive a link to an email survey. Alumni and the “wider community” will be surveyed in the future.

The outgoing president, Carol Folt, will retire July 1, ending a six-year tenure. The University announced Feb. 5 that Beong-Soo Kim, senior vice president and general counsel for the University, will serve as interim president.

Suzanne Nora Johnson, chair of the USC Board of Trustees, said in a Feb. 5 interview with the Daily Trojan that choosing the next president will likely take until at least June 2026. The search committee consists of University trustees, administrators, professors and one student representative.
