Condé Nast CEO named Dornsife commencement speaker

Roger Lynch, also a USC physics alum, will receive the Dornsife Distinguished Alumnus award at the ceremony.

The Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences commencement speaker will be Roger Lynch — CEO of the media company Condé Nast — the school wrote in a press release Monday. Lynch earned his bachelor’s degree in physics from USC and will also receive the Dornsife Distinguished Alumnus award at the ceremony, the press release read.

“The breadth and depth of my Dornsife education gave me the foundation to pursue opportunities I never could have imagined,” Lynch wrote in the press release. “I’m incredibly proud to be part of this community — and excited to celebrate the graduates as they begin this next phase of their lives.”

Lynch previously served as the CEO of Sling TV and Pandora and currently sits on the board of directors for Mattel. He is also involved with nonprofit organizations such as Partnership for New York City and the News Media Alliance.

Lynch is a member of the Dornsife Board of Councilors, a volunteer group of “distinguished professional, academic and community leaders” that advises the dean of Dornsife, according to the Dornsife website.

The Dornsife commencement ceremony will take place May 16 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
