Men’s basketball commit in ‘stable condition’ after car crash, LAPD says

Alijah Arenas, son of NBA all-star Gilbert Arenas, is currently ranked the No. 13 high school player in the Class of 2025 by ESPN.

USC men’s basketball commit Alijah Arenas was involved in a severe car crash early this morning, according to ESPN. Arenas was hospitalized and put in a medically induced coma as a result of the crash.

Arenas, 18, is the son of three-time All-Star former NBA player Gilbert Arenas. He is currently ranked the No. 13 high school player in the Class of 2025 by ESPN, a five-star recruit and a McDonald’s All-American.

UPDATE (1:48 p.m.): Arenas is currently in “stable condition,” a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told the Daily Trojan.
