USC women’s basketball secured two high-profile commits for its 2026 class Wednesday, including the No. 1 overall recruit, guard Saniyah Hall. Both Hall and five-star forward Sitaya Fagan had previously verbally committed to USC but made their commitments official on the first day of Division I basketball’s early signing period.

“We could not be more excited with our class of 2026,” Head Coach Lindsay Gottlieb said in a news release. “We think we have the best class in the country and the best duo in the country. Both for what they bring as humans and as talented athletes but also how they fit with what we are as a program and what we are aiming to become.”

Hall’s commitment continued Gottlieb’s impressive recruiting track record at USC, becoming the third No. 1 recruit to sign with the Trojans in the last four years. Hall follows last season’s No. 1 recruit, Jazzy Davidson, 2023 No. 1 recruit JuJu Watkins and 2024 No. 6 recruit Kennedy Smith.

“I could tell the elite level talent she was. I was like, ‘This is the best player in the country. This is the kid we need in this class,’” Gottlieb said of Hall in a video announcing her commitment on Instagram. “We’re really excited for Saniyah to be a Trojan.”

Throughout her high school career, Hall earned several accolades as one of the nation’s top prep players. Hall was named the 2025 MaxPreps National Junior of the Year and also earned Naismith Trophy First Team All-America honors last season while playing at Monteverde Academy. Hall averaged 6.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.3 blocks per game in her junior season before transferring to Spire Academy for this season.

Hall also played for Team USA alongside Davidson, where Hall led the team in scoring, averaging 19.9 points per game en route to a gold medal at the 2025 International Basketball Federation Under-19 World Cup.

“Saniyah is particularly fitted to our pro-style offense because she plays like a pro,” Gottlieb said in the news release. “I think she’s going to fit right into what the Trojan family is all about.”

Fagan, an international signing from Melbourne, Australia, will come to USC after averaging 12.3 points and 5.3 rebounds for Australia at the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup, bringing the Australian team to the gold medal match against Hall and Davidson.

“Tay is such a unique, versatile and super athletic talent,” Gottlieb said in the news release. “She really is positionless, and I’m really looking forward to figuring out all the ways that we can use her in our defense and our offense.”

Fagan has also earned gold medals at the FIBA U16 Asian Championship in 2023 and the FIBA U15 Oceania Championship in 2022. She is known for her defensive play and athleticism, with her agility allowing her to guard other positions on the court while also being able to score offensively.

Fagan is expected to join the Trojans in January ahead of her freshman season next fall, according to the news release, while Hall will presumably finish her high school senior season before coming to Los Angeles next year.
