Sprinkles Cupcakes closes all locations

Sprinkles Cupcakes closed all locations on Wednesday, according to an Instagram Reel from founder Candace Nelson.The Sprinkles Cupcakes ATM outside of the USC Bookstore is not operational as of Jan. 1, with the display reading, “We are currently sold out, but will be loading more cupcakes soon!”Nelson founded the company in 2005 and sold to private equity firm KarpReilly in 2012.

The USC location opened in 2016 and was Sprinkles Cupcakes’ first ATM unattached to a Sprinkles bakery. A Daily Trojan article described “dozens of students and faculty members” standing in line for a cupcake on opening day.
