The Undergraduate Student Government senate met Tuesday night for an eight-minute meeting to approve two agenda items.

The senators first unanimously passed senate bill 146-06, which approved the 2026-27 office policy manual. The bill had previously been tabled by senators for the last two meetings, the first time because chief of staff Shrinidhi Sriram was unable to present the bill and the second time to allow senators more time to review the bill.

One change made to the office policy manual allows USG officers to fulfill certain office hour requirements by attending required organization-wide, departmental and committee meetings. These meetings will count as one office hour each. Before, they had counted as a half hour each.

Officers with four or fewer office hours will not be allowed to use required meetings as office hours.

Speaker of the senate Madison Troup said she thanked Siriram for her work in collaborating with senators on the changes.

“Thank you so much for being so willing to have a conversation with us [and] being willing to implement our changes and talk through things,” Troup said.

No senators proposed any further changes to the office policy manual during the meeting.

Beyond approving the bill, senators also unanimously approved the appointment of Muskaan Thindal, a freshman majoring in health and human sciences, as the Queer and Ally Student Assembly advocacy liaison.
