Daily Trojan recognized at CCMA awards
The Daily Trojan received six awards at the California College Media Association awards ceremony Saturday night, including first place for “General Excellence” — the top award of the evening.
The CCMA examined work from college publications across the state during the 2009 calendar year, and distributed awards in various categories, including print, magazine, online and advertising.
The Daily Trojan was recognized for the following:
First place, “General Excellence.”
Second place, “Best Special Section,” for the 2009 supplement issue.
Second place, “Best Overall Design.”
Second place, “Best Arts and Entertainment Story,” Lauren Barbato, for her work on the 2009 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Third place, “Best Feature Story,” Alexander Comisar, for his article on then-outgoing Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton.
Third place, “Best Sports Column,” Josh Jovanelly, for his commentary on USC’s loss to Stanford.
