Lilith Fair about to embark on world tour

The all-girl musician phenomenon Lilith Fair tied up its tour this summer, with more than 90 acts coming together to perform. The concert extravaganza offered attendees a range of musical act ranging sibling duo Tegan & Sara to Sara Bareilles. The show managed to not only entertain fans from July to August but also managed to raise an impressive $500,000 for local and national organizations throughout the United States and Canada.

The 23-city movement plans to expand the tour to other countries beginning with “A Taste of Lilith,” which will take place in Australia in October. Sarah MacLachlan, co-founder of the festival, will also make an appearance in Australia joined by Court Yard Hounds, made up of Dixie Chick members Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, as well as Kate Miller-Heidke, 2009 winner of the International Songwriting Competitions. The Verses duo and siblings Ella and Jesse Hooper will perform as well.

The charitable streak continues. Each ticket sold will donate $1 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
