UPDATE: The McCarthy Way entrance and the McCarthy Way Parking Structure are now reopened, according to a TrojansAlert sent Thursday evening.

Previous reporting follows below:

A vehicle crashed into the wall of the third floor of the McCarthy Way Parking Structure Thursday afternoon. The driver is safe, and there are no other injuries. Drivers and pedestrians are being directed to avoid the lane and sidewalk directly below the structure. The Department of Public Safety is responding to the scene.

The McCarthy Parking Structure is closed until further notice, USC Transportation announced in a communitywide email late Thursday afternoon. Cars already in the structure may exit as normal.

“All McCarthy permit holders may use the Figueroa, Shrine, or Grand Avenue Structures until further notice using their existing permit,” the email read. “The Campus Entrance at McCarthy [Way] will remain closed until we have been advised that the structure is safe to enter.”
