Kim Kardashian releases debut single

Reality TV star and popular figure Kim Kardashian released her dance infused single “Jam (Turn It Up)” on March 2, 2011. Since its debut on Ryan Seacrest’s morning show, on 102.7 KIIS FM, critics and the public alike have given it mixed reviews.

Kardashian has yet to experiment with music as she told Seacrest, “I’ve never sang before, this is definitely something that I don’t do…for me to step out of my comfort zone and do this…is like a really big deal.”

Kardashian put herself in a very vulnerable position in which to be scrutinized and judged by listeners, but found herself reaping the benefits as the infamous blogger, Perez Hilton stated, “Nice going, gurl!!  We are VERY impressed!! We were expecting Heidi Montag music awfulness!

Many stars have tried and failed to break into the music industry, like Montag of The Hills, simply because of their celebrity status, yet Hilton serves as a testament to the warm reception many have given Kardashian.

Kardashian is donating part of the sale’s proceeds to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, proving that this isn’t just some stunt for fame; she genuinely cares about her charity.

The public has been much more critical. ITunes listeners rated Kardashian with an average of two out of five stars. The general consensus is that she has no talent and only got to her position because of her wealth. Some defended her due to the fact that it will benefit her charity and because it is simply a fun, electric dance number.

Clearly there is a divide amongst listeners, but there is only one way to find out.  Check out this hot (or cold) new commodity and decide for yourself.
