Howard granted immediate eligibility

Maryland transfer Pe’Shon Howard has officially been added to the 2013-2014 USC men’s basketball roster,  head coach Andy Enfield announced Monday.

The senior point guard was given legislative relief waiver to return home to his hometown in order to be closer to his ailing grandmother.

The 6’3, 190 pound guard adds a great amount of experience to Enfield’s roster after playing in 83 games, including 44 starts for Maryland over three seasons.

“We are happy that Pe’Shon will be able to spend time with his grandmother who helped raise him here in Los Angeles,” Enfield said. “On the court, Pe’Shon will provide leadership and we expect him to have a terrific senior season.”

Last season as co-captain of the Terrapins, Howard averaged 3.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game while leading his team to the NIT semifinals.

Although originally from Los Angeles, Howard played his high school basketball at the prestigious Oak Hill Academy in Virginia.
