Get out of my dreams, and over to The Standard: it’s 80’s Prom! This event, hosted by Calpernia Addams, will feature The Cars Cover Band CANDY-O, two DJ sets and a King and Queen contest. Be sure to dust off your puffy sleeves and leg warmers, because an 80s dress code is strongly suggested. Tickets are $20 and include one drink.

 

James Brown: Get On The Good Foot, a Celebration in Dance

Glorya Kaufman presents this dance spectacular that celebrates the music of James Brown. This project combines original dance with a contemporary spin on James Brown’s music performed by the Philadelphia Dance Company. Get up offa’ that thing, and go!

Do you have a great Valentine’s Day horror story? “Mortified LA’s Doomed Valentine’s Show” gives you a chance to tell your tale of Valentine’s past in a live storytelling extravaganza! This event is 21 and over. Tickets are $15 in advance, and $20 at the door.

 

Grand Park’s Gotta Funky Sole: Lover’s Edition

Whether you’re celebrating this Valentine’s Day alone or with a significant other, Grand Park’s “Gotta Funky Sole: Lovers Edition” is the event for you. This funky dance party would not be complete without a dance floor and live music by Breakestra, Orgone and Funky Sole DJs Music Man Miles and Clifton. This event will feature food trucks, a full bar presented by The Echo and Valentine’s Day surprises available for purchase. If you’re not convinced yet — it’s also free.
