SUPPLEMENT

Ghosted

An exploration of the things left in the shadows, the marks we leave behind on the world, the ruins we work to rebuild and the things we choose to remember.

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Even if you don’t have an answer, it’s likely you know someone who does. We are living in an age of casualty and ephemeral bonds, where people and moments can pass us by if we move too quickly. But beyond romantic love, this idea of almosts and what-ifs can be applied to any aspect of our ever-changing lives.

As we approach the end of October, we say goodbye to a month of metamorphosis, a time of ghouls and gourds. Perhaps we should look to the relationships we have with our city, with our heritage, with others and with ourselves, and bask in all the ways they are constantly severed and constantly reforged.

This supplement is an exploration of the things left in the shadows, the marks we leave behind on the world, the ruins we work to rebuild and the things we choose to remember. Whether you’re curious about the stories that haunt our campus, communities and our cities or the ways we reconnect with nature in a concrete metropolis, there’s something here for you.

So, like the apparitions that haunt this season, take a moment to linger.
