The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety incident report summary between Thursday, Nov. 29, and Friday, Nov. 30. 

Crimes against property

at 5:18 p.m. on Nov. 29, a suspect entered an unsecured vehicle near the intersection of Alcazar Street and Playground Street and removed a speaker and a tennis racket.

at 3:21 p.m. on Nov. 29, a suspect slashed the rear passenger side tire on a student’s vehicle at the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

Miscellaneous incidents

at 2:44 a.m. on Nov. 30, a student collided with a pole and a bush at the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity when she lost control of her vehicle and she began hydroplaning. The student was not injured, but there was unspecified damage to her vehicle.

at 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 30, DPS officers responded to an intoxicated student who was vomiting at Trojan Residence Hall. An LAFD Rescue Ambulance unit was requested and Unit 15 responded.  The RA Unit examined the student and concluded she did not require medical treatment.  The student was then released into the care of her roommate.

at 11:02 p.m. on Nov. 29, DPS officers responded to a report of two suspects attempting to sell bottles of alcohol to residents of nearby houses and passersby near the intersection of 28th and Portland streets. The officers detained the suspects for investigation and discovered that both had outstanding warrants. The suspects were then arrested and transported to Metropolitan Detention Center for booking.

at 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 29, DPS officers on routine patrol were flagged down by a waitress who reported that a suspect was attempting to leave Grinder without paying for a meal she had eaten.  The officers detained the suspect and determined that she did not have the means to pay for her meal. The waitress declined criminal prosecution of the matter and the suspect was subsequently released.

at 11:04 a.m. on Nov. 29. a student on a bicycle collided with a university vehicle driven by a staff member at Parking Structure A, causing a scuff mark on the passenger side door.

at 10:18 a.m. on Nov. 29, DPS officers responded to a report of an unknown substance leaking down the wall of an office in the basement of the Willard Keith Administration and Medical Forum Building on the Health Sciences Campus. Facilities Management System personnel also responded and determined that the substance was water that was leaking into organic fertilizer stored on the floor above. FMS personnel stated that the fertilizer posed no health danger and subsequently repaired the leak.

at 9:05 a.m. on Nov. 29, DPS officers responded to a staff member who suffered a seizure in the Gwynn Wilson Student Union. LAFD RA Unit #15 was at the scene examining the staff member when the officers arrived and the staff member was subsequently transported to Kaiser Cadillac Hospital for medical treatment.
