USC Security Roundup
The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety incident report summary between Friday, Feb. 19, and Monday Feb. 22.
Crimes against a person
At 12:45 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 20, a non-USC male was arrested after trying to enter Theta Xi, choking a student and vandalizing the interior of a DPS vehicle.
At 3:47 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 20, a student reported that in an altercation with her roommate, she sustained bruises and scratches. She did not desire any criminal prosecution in regards to the altercation.
At 1:13 a.m. on Sunday Feb. 21, a student reported that a friend pushed her and threw her cellular phone away when she tried to call for help at 2650 Orchard Ave.
Crimes against property
At 11:06 a.m. on Friday Feb. 19, a suspect stole a purse at the Keck Hospital of USC.
At 11:23 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 20, it was reported a car stereo, coins and a flashlight was stolen at the Campus Development and Facilities Building.
At 9:39 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 20, it was reported that a vehicle was hit while it was parked on Jefferson Boulevard and Orchard Avenue and that the second vehicle left without leaving a report or contact information.
Miscellaneous incidents
At 12:07 a.m. on Friday Feb. 19, DPS arrested 21 students for having fake identification at the 901 Club. The students were cited and released shortly thereafter.
At 9:30 a.m. on Friday Feb. 19, a student injured his ankle at the physical education building. The student was transported to the Engemann Student Health Center.
At 12:45 p.m. on Friday Feb. 19, a welfare check was conducted at parking lot D, and the student was then transported to the Student Counseling Center.
At 6:41 p.m. on Friday Feb. 19, a student crashed into another student’s car with a university vehicle and caused minor damage at 27th Street and Vermont Avenue.
At 4:00 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 20, a student had an alcohol overdose at Adams Boulevard and Flower Street and was transported to a local hospital.
At 11:58 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 20, a staff member was trapped in an elevator at USC University Hospital and Facilities Management Services responded to the emergency.
At 1:55 p.m. on Sunday Feb. 21, a staff member was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment after they had fainted at the Galen Center.
