Manuel Pastor, professor of sociology and American studies and ethnicity and director of the Program for Environmental and Regional Equity and the Center for the Study of Immigrant Integration, is the first recipient of the Turpanjian Chair. The position will allow him to lead the university in its involvement with the civil sector.
