Parliamentary pressure
In Rosaleen O’Sullivan’s article titled “British court values human rights over diplomancy,” she writes that “this case is an exception to the [intelligence sharing secrecy] rule in that Britain’s reasons for releasing the information are domestic; it is not setting any true precedent for future intelligence policy.”
Her argument is that since it is the [...]

British court values human rights over diplomacy

More important in this case, however, is the [...]

Process of sustainability
I was disappointed reading Wednesday’s Daily Trojan article regarding USC’s most recent College Sustainability Report Card grade — not because of the grade itself, but the almost apologetic tone taken in discussing it. It appears to me that the university has nothing to apologize for as it continues to lead and innovate in [...]

Many on fence for health care reform

Growing up in largely Latino Southern Arizona directly exposed me to how a large portion of the population deals with their health care needs — they drive for 45 minutes down to south of the border to take advantage of less expensive health care and pharmaceuticals.
Has American health care become so expensive that we have [...]

Law too difficult to follow for Shriver

By Laura Reeve · Daily Trojan

October 13, 2009 at 10:02 pm

When the California Senate passed a law banning cell phone use while driving, citizens all over the state agreed that this was a sensible and well-reasoned law — that no one would ever, ever follow.
It’s like a law that forbids people from making bad eating choices. It’s good for us! It’s better for the planet! [...]

Lax welfare system leaves children behind

By Lucy Mueller · Daily Trojan

October 13, 2009 at 10:01 pm

But with all the [...]
