Nicholas Cage Taunts Police

According to police records, an intoxicated Nicolas Cage was arrested at 6:33 a.m. after a fight with his wife, Alice, and later, mouthing off to the cops.

The Oscar winning actor, who is filming his new movie Medallion, in New Orleans, caught the police’s attention after getting into a heated argument with his wife over their current rental address.  He then taunted the cops, saying, “Why don’t you just arrest me?”  According to TMZ, it wasn’t until the second dare that the police took him into custody for domestic abuse and disturbing the peace.

Cage’s wife will not be pressing any charges since he didn’t assault her.

Later that day, at 2 p.m. the reality star Duane Chapman (Dog the Bounty Hunter) posted a $11,000 bail bond for Cage.

In a statement to E! News Chapman said, “I am a truly dedicated fan of Mr. Cage and will not be granting interviews about my client as I wish to respect his privacy.  I performed my duties as a bail bondsman and not in connection to our show.  This is what I do for a living.  There are two sides of my job: I release my clients after they have been arrested; and pick them up if they don’t show up in court.  I do not believe the latter will be the case for Mr. Cage.”
