Collision near campus shuts down traffic Friday night
A collision involving a Los Angeles Police Department cruiser and a civilian vehicle at the intersection of McClintock Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard shut down traffic in all directions shortly after 9 p.m. Friday.
Ambulances were called to the scene for two police officers who sustained moderate injuries, according to the LAPD. They were taken to a local hospital where they are listed in stable condition. The two civilians in the other vehicle were not transported to the hospital.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Capt. Melissa Zak confirmed that drugs or alcohol do not appear to have been involved.
As of 1:20 a.m. Saturday, a section of Jefferson Boulevard was still closed to to traffic.
