The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety incident summary between Wednesday, March 28, and Thursday, March 29.

Crimes against a person

at 3:31 a.m. on March 29, a student reported that another student pushed him to the ground during an argument on Ellendale Place and while he was lying on the ground he was kicked by two unidentified companions of the subject. The reporting student complained of injuries to his ribs, wrist and elbow, but he declined medical treatment from an LAFD RA unit and was released at the scene. The second student could not be located for questioning at the time of the report.

Crimes against property

at 10:15 p.m. on March 29, unknown suspects threw an egg at a student’s vehicle on 30th and Royal streets causing paint damage to the rear passenger side panel of his vehicle.

at 11:19 p.m. on March 28, a student was cited to Student Judicial Affairs and Community Standards for throwing a water balloon at a DPS vehicle on Menlo Avenue and a second student was cited for failure to comply with officers who detained him during an investigation of the incident.

at 8:41 p.m. on March 28, DPS officers responded to a report of two juveniles driving a university electric cart near Heritage Hall, but upon their arrival the cart was abandoned and the juveniles could not be located. There was no damage to the cart and it was subsequently impounded at the DPS office until it could be returned to the proper department.

Miscellaneous incidents

at 5:54 p.m. on March 29, DPS officers responded to a roommate dispute with two USC female students at University Gateway. The students assured the officers that the dispute was over and there were no visible signs of injury to either of them. The officers cleared the scene.

at 1:04 p.m. on March 29, DPS officers responded to a traffic collision involving a male student on a bicycle and a non-USC visitor in a vehicle on Exposition Boulevard and Trousdale Parkway. The officer determined that neither party was injured and subsequently cleared the scene.

At 12:31 a.m. on March 29, two students were cited to Judicial Affairs for smoking marijuana in an apartment at the Annenberg House.

at 7:12 p.m. on March 28, a suspect used an unknown sharp object to scratch the paint on the entire body of a student’s vehicle near Century Apartments.

at 2:41 p.m. on March 28, DPS officers responded to a report of a suspect prowling in an office inside the Frank Seaver Science Center and detained him for investigation. The officers found the suspect in possession of a crack pipe. He was arrested and transported to 77th station for booking.
