Miscellaneous incidents

At 1:37 a.m. on Sept. 5, DPS officers on routine patrol were flagged down by a cab driver with an intoxicated student passed out in the back seat of his vehicle near 7-Eleven. The officers woke the student and found her to be coherent. The officers concluded that the student did not need medical care and, after she paid her fare, transported her to her residence and released her into the care of her roommate.

At 1:15 a.m. on Sept. 5, DPS officers responded to an intoxicated student who passed out on the lawn in front of the Beta Omega Phi fraternity. The student was coherent when awakened by the officers, and they concluded that she was not in need of medical treatment. The student was then transported to her residence and released into the care of her roommate.

At 8:43 p.m. on Sept. 4, a student said he was involved in a verbal dispute with another student and she refused to leave his residence at 653 30th St. after being asked to do so. DPS officers asked the second student on the front porch of the location to leave the premises. The student complied without further incident.

I detect a new DPS policy of not transporting drunks to the hospital. Not fair to those that got transports last year for no good reason. Vomiting is not a crime!
