The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety incident report summary between Tuesday, Sept. 18, and Wednesday, Sept. 19. 

Crimes against a person

At 8:01 p.m. on Sept. 18, a student at University Gateway Apartments reported receiving numerous annoying text messages from an unidentified subject during the past five months.

At 2:46 p.m. on Sept. 18, DPS officers responded to the Student Health Center to interview a student who was being treated for an eye injury she sustained during an altercation with her boyfriend, who is also a student. LAPD officers were requested and responded to take over the investigation.

Crimes against property

At 6:24 p.m. on Sept. 18, a suspect removed the front wheel from a bicycle secured to a bike rack at the Galen Center.

At 6:01 p.m. on Sept. 18, three students reported that they wired money to a travel agency to purchase airline tickets but never received the tickets.

At 1:00 p.m. on Sept. 18, a staff member reported that a suspect used her USC ID to make an unauthorized gasoline purchase at the University Parking Center.

At 12:57 p.m. on Sept. 18, a student reported that he left clothing, linens and other personal property in the care of his roommates at Theta Xi fraternity while he was working out-of-state. Upon returning, he discovered that all his belongings were missing after being left unattended in a hallway.

At 11:12 a.m. on Sept. 18, a student reported his laptop computer missing from the Loker Hydrocarbon Institute.

At 9:25 a.m. on Sept. 18, DPS officers responded to a traffic collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Vermont Avenue. One of the vehicles was driven by a student.  LAPD officers were assisting both drivers with the exchange of information when the DPS officers arrived, then all units cleared the scene.

At 8:42 A.m. on Sept. 18, a suspect entered a locker room and removed a dental articulator left unattended on the top of a locker at the Norris Dental Center.

Miscellaneous incidents

At 12:15 a.m. on Sept. 19, DPS officers responded to an intoxicated student who was seen stumbling down the street near 30th Street and McClintock Avenue and stopped him to check on his welfare. The officers concluded that the student was not in need of medical treatment, then transported him to his residence and released him into the care of his roommates.

At 7:19 p.m. on Sept. 18, DPS officers responded to a student who reported that he returned to his apartment at University Regent and found the front door open. The officers found no one inside during a search of the apartment and no property had been removed.

At 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, DPS officers responded to a student who injured his ankle while playing basketball at Parking Lot 1. The officers examined the student then transported him to California Hospital for medical treatment.
