The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety incident report summary between Wednesday, Apr. 3, and Thursday, Apr. 4. 

Miscellaneous incidents

at 1:50 P.M. on Apr. 3, DPS officers responded to a student report that someone claiming to be from Homeland Security contacted the student and asked him to wire money to another man in order to resolve a student visa issue. DPS investigated the incident and found it to be a scam. The student did not wire the money.

AT 12:18 P.M. on Apr. 3, DPS officers detained a student suspected of slapping and stabbing another student with a pen. The suspect was arrested after she was undentified by the other students involved. The stabbed student was transported to California Hospital for treatment.

At 5:18 P.M. on Apr. 3, DPS officers and LAFD responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of Troy Hall.  No fire was found, as the alarm had been set off by a cleaning product on a stove. The alarm was reset and the building was cleared by LAFD for re-entry.

At 10:26 P.M. on Apr. 4, DPS officers cited fraternity Alpha Tau Omega for disturbing the peace.  Members of the fraternity were running with lit torches, which created a safety hazard.

at 8:29 P.M. on Apr. 4, a DPS officer found a gum wrapper containing a white powdery substance and entered it into evidence at the UPC Public Safety Office.

    Looks like dps has a lot of very important work going on these days! On top of confiscating a million bikes a day and making students sit and wait for 1 hour until they can get them back because they are on lunch break.
