The City of Angels can best be seen from up above and what’s a better way to spend a Friday night than sharing a meal (or a cocktail) with your friends with the luminescent backdrop of Los Angeles skyline? Here are some of the best spots where you can enjoy a meal with a view.

  1. Perch Los Angeles: 448 S. Hill Street, Los Angeles, CA

Located just a short Uber ride away from USC, Perch Los Angeles is a classic, offering views of the city that will take your breath away. In the heart of downtown Los Angeles, Perch’s food is on par with its panoramic views from the 16th floor of. Its diverse menu features many starters, from baked brie with apple and fennel to grain mustard aioli. There’s also a delightful salmon paired with smoked eggplant puree and topped with artichoke chips to add a tasty crunch. To share, I’d recommend the brussels sprouts — tossed with bacon and sherry vinaigrette, this side is both heavenly and healthy. Or if you’re in the mood for something rich and filling, you will love the mac ‘n’ cheese with bacon and black truffle béchamel. Perch is perfect for a romantic date or a night out with friends. Make sure to take the stairs up to the 17th floor for drinks after dinner and even more expansive views — you can even see USC!

Though many people only view The Standard as a hot spot to go out on a Saturday night, this modern hotel’s rooftop deck offers an exceptional brunch. Providing the classics including yummy omelettes, waffles, breakfast burritos and, of course, mimosas, this restaurant is the perfect place to hit up with your friends for Sunday brunch to share hilarious stories from the night before — and with an extraordinary view of downtown.

Located in the Ritz-Carlton hotel at L.A. Live, this elegant eatery provides views of L.A. that rival the New York skyline. Their tasty Asian-fusion menu features to-die-for dumplings, fresh black cod and made-to-order pork buns. Make sure to take a moment to look up from your plate and enjoy the glorious backdrop of the city lights.
