Four nearby smoothie spots to satisfy your craving
It’s a beautiful 85 degrees out in Los Angeles, and you want nothing more than to quench your thirst with a delicious smoothie. Whether you’re feeling a quick smoothie between classes or you’re up for a short trip off campus, here are the best smoothie spots to satisfy your cravings.
Nekter
Nestled away in the USC School of Architecture, this smoothie haven offers fresh fruit smoothies that will have students lined up out the door. If you’re in the mood for something a little healthy, go for “The Greenie” with parsley, spinach, kale, celery, cucumber, lemon and apple. Or if you’re feeling something sweet, the “Chocolate Dream” will definitely have you day dreamin’ in class. This delectable thirst quencher blends vanilla cashew milk, carob, cacao, dates and a hint of agave nectar. In a rush? Order your smoothie on Tapingo and skip the line!
Leno Juice Bar
For those of you who live at West 27th Place Apartments, this one is for you. Located just downstairs from this popular USC apartment complex and a block away from the Row, this juice bar is the perfect stop on your way home from class. Offering the classics and a few specialities, this spot has a little something for everyone. My favorite is the “Super Charging” which will give you a little pick-me-up featuring cacao, almond milk, cold brew coffee and banana.
Lorenzo Central Kitchen
If you live at The Lorenzo, you’re in luck! Central kitchen has a great smoothie menu, highlighted by their simple strawberry-banana and four berry blend. The perfect drink to take with you to the pool!
Juice Crafters
Located just a 10 minute drive from USC’s campus, Juice Crafters has their smoothie recipes down. My favorite is the Silver Cup with almond milk, coconut water, kale, dates, banana, and walnuts — the perfect mixture of sweet and a hint of savory. If you’re a little on the hungry side, try out one of their delectable acai bowls!
