Prepped and primed for Day 2, and I couldn’t be more excited.

I can hear No Doubt sound checking “Hella Good” from the camp grounds and I already know I’m going to absolutely lose it. Looking forward to telling you all about it!

It’s impossible for Tyler, The Creator to disappoint. It’s usually the crowd that falls short. We didn’t.

He was everything, as he usually is: cracking jokes and making fun of the audience, telling us he loves us just to flip us the bird. He started off the set with a skit reminiscent of his Odd Future days, that found him admitting to his newest addition to an already lengthy multi-hyphen: park ranger.

From the moment he erupted with a sea of fireworks out the side of a camping van, the performance was a cemented classic. He sang a song from pretty much all of his albums, an Eras Tour condensed into a 30 minute medley. We ate up every second of it, like he ate the Nobu left for him on stage during the Pharrell interlude in “IFHY.”

I don’t even care that I can’t feel my feet. What went down in that pit was worth more than the blisters I’ll have to deal with in the morning. I could gush about him forever, but I’m stumbling back to my campsite, which I now realize is the perfect parallel for his national-park-themed set. See you in the morning, when we’ll do it all again (last one this time 🥲).

Now, for the moment you’ve all been waiting for: Tyler, the Creator. Please keep me in your thoughts (and maybe keep an eye out on the livestream) because I’m just about 15 feet away from the barricade right now. More soon (if I make it out alive 🤞).

Performing together for the first time in nine years, I haven’t seen anyone control a crowd quite like No Doubt just did. I’m in awe of how Gwen Stefani finds the stamina to sprint across the stage, kick her feet in the air, all while singing an hour and twenty-minute long set with a voice as full-bodied as hers. Gwen said “Don’t Speak,” and, in an ironic turn of events, now I can’t speak, because I very well could’ve popped a lung with how loud I yelled out the lyrics. With an explosive ending to an absolutely iconic performance, No Doubt closed the night with crowd favorites “Just a Girl”, “Don’t Speak” and “Spiderwebs”.

No Doubt is next; feeling Hella Good about this one. ;)

I think if you watch the Blur set you can see me right in the front, losing all my marbles to the tune of “Girls&Boys.” After the song finished, and my feet finally settled on the ground, the woman in front of me turned around and told me that my meltdown “was beautiful.”

In what was announced as the band’s final set, the band put on a performance to end all performances (quite literally). Though I am a bit bummed (Beetlebummed?) that I’ll never see “Coffee and TV” live, I think anyone in this crowd can agree we are just grateful to have witnessed such a historic event.

The band performed a heartwarming rendition of “Tender” as their final song, accompanied by the Torres Martinez Cahuilla Bird Singers. Thousands of fans waved their flashlights, illuminating the stage in a demonstration of gratuitous adoration, a wholehearted send off as Blur bid the audience their final farewell.

Blur embrace as they leave the stage for what could be the very last time.

Blur just announced this is probably their last gig. I’m not crying, you are.

Blur welcomes the Torres Martinez Cahuilla Bird Singers, performing to honor their ancestral land, Coachella Valley.

Ten minutes to Blur and I don’t know how I’ll survive both “Song 2” and “Girls&Boys” live. Wish me luck.

Sublime was, well, sublime. Everyone was bopping around with the twang of their bass and the sharp rhythm of their guitar. Jakob Nowell, son of the band’s original lead Bradley Nowell, sang all the words the crowd knew and loved. Perfect 4/20 sunset band, impeccable programming on Coachella’s end.

Hearing “Santeria” live for the first time, as the sun sets over Indio, is an experience I am particularly grateful for today.

A giant mosh is breaking out as Sublime performs “Wrong Way.” This has been happening with pretty much every song in the set.

A girl can only be in so many places at once, apologies for the lag in updates as I frantically sprint around the grounds trying to cover all my bases (and sustain myself without fainting)!

Anyway, here’s Sublime and a sunset — wowza.

From her charismatic crowd work to the dance moves she breaks out in moments of pure joy, RAYE was the definition of what it means to be a performer. With a self-admitted flair for the dramatic, her pure vocal prowess left jaws dropped on the dusty desert floor — mine included.

“Coachella, are you feeling good?” RAYE asked the crowd. “Is Mary treating you good this afternoon? I can’t lie, I’m feeling jealous of you. So if it feels right, can you blow some in my direction?”

RAYE serenades the crowd at Mojave as clouds of billowing smoke fill the tent. Did someone turn on a fog machine?!

Alerted by the crowd, RAYE begins singing her hit “Mary Jane” just as it strikes 4:20 p.m.

Mexico City’s Girl Ultra is ultra cool. The way she moves with her music — one with every sway in the melody— is intoxicating, and the crowd agrees. Some call her an R&B artist, but reducing her to a genre fails to account for the full range of her talent. Girl Ultra can issue a hit, be it hyperpop or indie inspired; she’s a mosaic of her influences and it shows.

Girl Ultra just mimed rolling and lighting up a joint mid “DameLove (feat. Cuco).” Happy 4/20!

Never thought I’d be grateful for an ice-cold camp shower, but Coachella is a weekend of firsts.
