Bomb threat to Student Union was false, LAPD finds

A roughly 30-minute evacuation took place after a call claimed there was a bomb in the fourth floor’s gender neutral bathroom.

The Los Angeles Police Department has determined the bomb threat to the Wilson Student Union was false, according to a TrojansAlert message. The Department of Public Safety evacuated the building on Nov. 19 at 2:30 p.m. after a phone call claimed there was a bomb in the fourth floor’s gender neutral bathroom.

The building was evacuated for about 30 minutes. At 3 p.m., students and faculty were allowed to re-enter the building.

The fourth floor is home to several cultural centers, including the Native American and Pasifika Student Lounge, La CASA, the LGBTQ+ Student Center, the Students With Dependents Program, and Asian Pacific American Student Services.
