Downtown Dining: XL Edition

In college, dining out with large groups of six or more people seems inevitable. For the birthday dinners, invite pregames, and almost every other special occasion, college students often choose to venture beyond campus to celebrate. However, it can be difficult to find a restaurant that will fulfill the demands of a large group of hungry twenty-somethings. The list below is full of affordable restaurants in downtown that can gracefully accommodate a crowd:

Arashi Sushi

Offering one of the most affordable happy hours in the city, Arashi Sushi is ideal for an early night out on the town. Their abundant menu features Japanese classics as well as a variety of specialty rolls. They also have an extensive sake and wine selection to satisfy your pregame plans.

Border Grill

It’s about time that USC students take advantage of this tried and true Mexican restaurant’s downtown location. Their space is perfect for large groups, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. While it may not be the best Mexican food in LA, the portions are huge and the complimentary chips and salsa don’t hurt either.

800 Degrees

Although they don’t take reservations, their ample amount of seating reduces your risk of not finding an open table. Their customizable Neapolitan pizzas are a crowd favorite with their high quality ingredients at a cost-conscious price. The downtown location also offers a full bar for those looking to wash down dinner and start off the night.
