Fall 2022 Editor in Chief Election
The election of the Daily Trojan Fall 2022 Editor in Chief will take place in person at the Daily Trojan offices on Wednesday, April 6 at 5:00 PM. For those who cannot attend in person, an online broadcast and online voting will be available (register below).
Candidates
Interested and qualified candidates were invited to apply before the deadline, Friday, April 1 at 12:00 noon, to qualify and stand for the election. Two candidates, Lois Albert Angelo and Kacie Yamamoto, submitted an application and position paper.

Election Session & Voting
At the election meeting on Wednesday, April 6 at 5:00 PM, the candidates will make presentations of their platforms to the staff.
All staff members are encouraged to attend, and will be able to ask questions of the candidate as time permits. Once the candidates have made their presentations, assembled staff will be given the opportunity to cast votes. Online attendees and absentee voters will be permitted to vote online. The polls will close soon after the presentations, online and in-person votes will be tabulated, and the winner announced at the end of the session. The winner of the election will attend an online meeting of the Student Media Board, at which, the board will vote to confirm them as Fall 2022 editor in chief.
To vote in the election, you must be a current Daily Trojan staff member.
- To vote in person, just attend the meeting in STU 421 on Wednesday at 5 PM. No registration is necessary.
- To attend and vote via Zoom at the online election simulcast, please click here to register. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
